Sensei Aaron

Sensei Aaron

Aaron I Lawrence was born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico. He began is Martial Arts training at the age of 8 being taught mainly the arts of classical Taekwondo, Shoshindo Kung-fu and Aikido.
At the age of 17 Sensei Lawrence found ShoshinRyu and began his training, He has since attained the rank of Nidan and has been training for 13 years and teaching for 8. His history includes:

  • 1995-Present: ShoshinRyu Jujutsu / Karate
  • 2000-Present: Training/teaching ShoshinRyu at seminars from Alaska to Aix-en Provence France
  • 2001-2004 Focused training in Brazilian Jujitsu in Albuquerque NM from Art Romero.
  • 2002-Present Knife and Stick Influences from Guru Ray Dionaldo curriculum.
  • 2003-Present Judo curriculum with Sensei Pete Campbell (Boise Idaho)

 Sensei Lawrence is known across the country for his dynamic teaching style and no nonsense training.

 

Senior Instructor Devon Senior Instructor Devon

Devon started dabbling in martial arts at the age of 4. He attended his first classes when in elementary school, trying to model after his father. His older brother became a martial artist and began teaching him the basics. Devon started wrestling and grappling at age 11 in 6th grade. Not long after that he started to attend martial arts at The Black Belt Academy/ Kyokushinkai Karate in Raleigh, NC. He wrestled and did martial arts through high school and achieved rank of first degree while under the guidance of Master Kami Eskandari. While attending The Black Belt academy, Devon studied American style boxing, judo, jiu jitsu and aikido from master Kami. He continued his studies in Kyokushinkai martial arts with Master Urilo Mitsumi in Wilmington, NC achieving the equivalent rank of Third degree black belt. While attending Kyokushinkai in Wilmington, he also attended regular training seminars in Chinese Kung Fu, military self defense, small weapons training and wooden weapon combat. To this day he still studies with online courses and video seminars.
